Scratch that Last Promise…

I’ve been doing a lot of personal re-evaluation–and in some cases first-time evaluation–lately, and I’ve come to the conclusion that this site is not going to continue as a food blog any longer for various reasons.

I’m reprioritizing, and in the process, food and all of its related things have been placed quite near the bottom of the list. More akin to “breathing” than “something of importance, worthy of frequent thought and concern.” Definitely not deserving of anything as time-consuming as documentation, even on the infrequent basis this blog has seen.

As such, I’m going to have to rethink the newsletter and restructure the site as well. I’m actually considering finally letting going of liquidstar.org and buying a new domain name. We’ll see.

More to come…

  1. Awww, thanks, hehe. 🙂 We’ll see.

I registered a new domain last night that I think is more appropriate for what I want to do with a Web site, but I’m so attached to this domain, too… I’ve had it for nearly six years now!

    So we’ll have to see.

    Any suggestions?

  2. Wow 6 years… must be hard to let go. Why did you choose liquidstar as the name for this website? Hehe. Hmm, what are some of the topics you’ve reprioritized?

  3. I totally know how you feel! I’m going to miss Liquidstar if you do decide to let go of it. I’m actually feeling the same way with my domain…in fact, I don’t even know if I want to keep any website at all beyond its expiration in May.

  4. Michael: Yeah. This domain has been through a lot. Seen many major changes, phases of my life. It makes it very hard to let go, but I was also 17 when I registered it. I was still a kid. 😛 Maybe letting go will be part of growing up. I don’t know, I haven’t decided for sure yet.

I’ve always liked stars (remember my wood project in sculpture class?), and I tacked on liquid because (I thought at the time, now I’m not so sure) water was my primary element. I liked the way it sounded, so that’s what I registered. 🙂

Primarily, I really want to focus on my art. I’m committed to taking it seriously now. I haven’t in the past, but I do think it’s really worth it for me to make it a focus, a goal. My confidence has improved a bit, and I’d like to have it improve even more. :]

Wendy: Awww… 🙁 I can sort of understand your position, though. You’re in med school. A Web site really is just a hobby. I know I’m going to keep a Web site because I want something simple to showcase some of my artwork, a basic bio, and contact info. That’s what I registered a new domain for, though. I don’t know what I’m going to do with liquidstar. Hrm. I am thinking of using the next six months or so until its expiration to switch over to my new domain, but I do still have a few hostees which would have to find new homes then. One of them is my sister, and I’d feel sooo bad about making her go someplace else. Mrr. :hrm: I don’t know yet. I do know that radiantmelody.com is mine, though, and I’ll defnitely be doing something with that. 🙂
