About the Girl and Site
Twenty-something. Painter. Writer. Rolling stone by day, completely unpredictable by night. I grew up on the South Shore of Long Island and attended Stony Brook University for two degrees in art. After spending a very character-building year in a Long Island harbor town working in a first-class bakery, I moved to San Francisco, where I worked for an airline doing a very unique job–not by any means part of flight crew, but I did have the good fortune to travel a lot both for work and pleasure.
It was during the course of those travels that I met an Aussie bloke who subsequently led me on a whirlwind adventure, some of which was documented on this site. The rest of which was most definitely not.
The culmination of my magical journey to date found me excitedly living by myself in my own apartment in one of Sydney’s inner suburbs. Never in a million years would I have pictured myself an ex-pat residing in Australia, but I was absolutely nothing but entirely grateful that my life had brought me there! It’s an amazing city, and it was completely perfect every day I’d had to experience it.
Unfortunately things went completely Alice-in-Wonderland on me, and now I’m lost in the land I spent the first 23 years of my life trying to find my way home through all of the obstacles and oddities.
Who knows what the future holds in store for me at this point… If the past few years have taught me anything, it’s that there’s absolutely no limit to what can happen!
As for the nitty-gritty details about this site: I can’t believe it’s been a decade now that there has been some form of a “personal” site present on the Web that was created and maintained by me. About six months after debuting, it was moved to its own domain–the one you are visiting right now. Liquidstar.org has seen countless transformations at this point, survived through several long periods of dormancy, and is still a part of my life as I continue gallivanting.
With respect to any technical details you may be wondering about, a friend of mine graciously hosts this site for me on his server as a pet project, and the domain is registered through GKG. I do all of the design and coding myself, aside from what WordPress produces for me as the back-end for publishing the blog entries and pages.
